Privacy Policy
Seyclops helps local businesses ask their customers for reviews, reply to reviews and track their online reputation. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Who this covers
Business users who create a Seyclops account, and their customers who receive a review request by text message or email from a business that uses Seyclops.
What we collect
- Account details: your email, a securely hashed password, business name, trade, city and Google listing ID.
- Customer contact details provided by the business: a customer’s name, phone number or email, and the job completed, so the business can send a review request.
- Feedback: star ratings and any private feedback a customer chooses to send.
- Billing: handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Basic technical data: such as IP address and browser type, used for security and to keep the service running.
How we use it
- To send review requests and one optional follow-up on behalf of the business that served the customer.
- To show businesses their reviews, feedback and reputation score, and to draft replies with AI.
- To alert a business when a customer leaves private feedback, so they can make it right.
- To operate, secure and improve the service, and to provide support and billing.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use customer phone numbers or emails for our own marketing.
Text messages (SMS)
Customers receive a text only from a business they recently did business with, about that service. Message frequency is low: usually one request and at most one follow-up. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out; reply HELP for help. Opting out stops all further texts from that business through Seyclops. Mobile numbers and SMS consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run Seyclops: Netlify (hosting), Turso (database), Twilio (text messages), Resend (email), Stripe (payments), OpenAI (AI-drafted text) and Google (business listing data). They process data only to provide their service to us.
Retention and your choices
- Business users can export all their data, or permanently delete their account, from Settings in the app.
- Customers can ask the business that contacted them, or email us, to delete their details.
- We keep data while an account is active and delete it when the account is deleted, except where the law requires us to keep records (for example, billing).
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and each business’s data is kept separate from every other business’s.
